I have just received a package from TNT tonight. It is $400 worth of parts I purchased from interstate.

2 metal panels were in the package - to repair the rust in the rear of my GT. I was really keen to receive this package, so I could get stuck in to restoring the GT.

Firstly I was amazed that the seller did not actually put these in cardboard. Would you ship metal panels in bubble wrap?? AND not put a FRAGILE sticker on it?? Well I received these wrapped in bubble wrap, no FRAGILE sticker or Handle With Care or anything......

This is what I saw when I peeled back the bubble wrap.....

That's actually a beaver panel and a rear boot floor repair panel, in case you can't tell.

I have contacted the business by phone, and had a very luke warm response. 10/10 for passing the buck! Claimed no responsibility and said I shoudl have taken insurance. IF I WAS OFFERED IT I WOULD HAVE TAKEN IT!!!! When I said this, he claimed "he didn't know it was available" Are you **** serious? This guy has been in business long enough to know whats going on. What a load of crap!

So my friends.....if this isn't resolved by the business, I will go to town on them BIG TIME :x :x :x

EDIT 10/11/2005 - The supplier has agreed to ship replacement goods. Hopefully will arrive undamaged.

JAM I work for a frieght company.. Just thought i'd let you know, we drop and throw people freight... fragile sticker or not. No one cares, freight is freight.. People put fragile stickers on absolutley everything, including things that are NOT fragile.. So you start to ignore the stickers completely. When you notice it's box full of wine you try and not throw that, but sometimes it's too late.. Things get smashed every night. You just have to package things well.

I am so disappointed about this, I feel sick!

If I actually open this package right up, I am sure it will look 100% worse that what you see there, which is worse than an accident damaged Mini.

SOMEONE HAS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITRY FOR THIS! and there is NO WAY it will be me!!!

Cushy, I like your humour, but not now..... :?

Not good enough - somebody at the vendor stuffed up and they should be making every attempt to correct the situation. If it had been packed properly and TNT had decided to back a truck over, then maybe, at a stretch, you could possibly cop a "should have had it insured" excuse. But this is plain negligence on the vendor's behalf, and they cannot be offering their stuff for sale as "New" to interstate customers and expect to get away with that.

I hope that this has been a slight oversight on behalf of the business involved and that there will be no further delay in correcting this mistake, otherwise my $ will be going elsewhere.

Bubble wrap is for INSIDE the box, not INSTEAD OF

Cut your losses & spend the time you would waste on the phone on straightening the panels instead ?

I am not opening this package up any more till I get answeres from the business, or TNT.

Looking inside and under the bubble wrap, the beaver is FUBAR - totally FUBAR  IT'S FLAT !! No way will I try to fix that, and why should I!

The boot floor has 3 HUGE dents and creases in it. I doubt these will straighten out.

Rang TNT....will get back to you tomorrow......

thats totally unacceptable...i know how you feel man...i ordered some stuff (non-car related) from the US last year and it turned up in shocking condition...i was well pissed off...luckily the company was nice enough to replace the parts without too much hassle...but i know what its like when you look forward to something for so long and when it finally arrives its not quite what you were expecting... :(

thats out of line. any business that sends stuff out should make sure that the goods are packaged correctly. For them to say that it isn't there problem is an insult to the buyer's good will. The freight company will probably pay for replacments. but the seller SHOULD DEFINATLY be the ones chasing it up! If it isn't resolved Anton, i will be more than happy to know who this business is and more than happy express my displeasure with them.....
