Does anyone know were I can get some 1275cc crankshaft thrust washer set in 30 thou .It's is for my A+ block with EN40B crank. It's the last part that is needed to finish of the block and looks like the hardest part to find so far. Olly |

You can "Tin" the back face of them & then lay solder on to as thick as you need it, & then face them back on a stone nice flat & even (or even have them machined back if you`re that picky) done it many many many & even Many more times than i can remember altho,,,some practice at "Tinning" & soldering would be essential & also, if you leave the lower thrusts with more clearance than the top, it is definately a bonus in helping with crank whip/flex so as not to push on the main cap |

Silver soldering them is better. I've seen soft solder drip off hot engine parts... not pretty! + .030" are no longer made.... only std or +.003" now. ![]() Luckily when I put my S cranks into 1100S or 1300 auto blocks, I just need to surface grind the washers down by .015" each, that's easy! ![]() |

Best way is silver solder a strip of shim steel to it. Then, put it bronze face down on the magnetic chuck, and surface grind the steel shim to thickness. |
