Bandaids..... keep 'em close.

Other than that, a quarter drive socket set will save you an hour.

i reckon you should take the radiator out first......
Sorry but had to be said. :D

make sure you have a new set of gaskets and some good quality gasket goo. replace the seal in the timing cover as well. you might well need to lock the motor to undo the wo nuts for the timing chain. if so, try it in gear but i think you'll find the bugger will roll with you... you might be lucky. Have someone hold the car still while you undo it.
When you put the bolts back in make sure to use loctite and torque them up correctly.

Cheers

Aaron

Whoa............that is one stuffed water pump. You'll notice a considerable difference to the old temp needle now :)

Those bent tin impeller pumps are crap... the cast iron (or even plastic) impeller ones are way better.

Hmmmm - they look like the Powermax waterpump. I have one on at the moment and have done for 4 years now. Pulled it about 6 months ago to change the head gasket and all was intact and absolutely no corrosion. However the seal is now weeping and a slight dribble of coolant is occasionally drippong from the hole under the pulley nose. Time to replace...

Got the Powermax(3708 model) for $5.00 and came with a free oil filter(go figure). Winner all round.

Might give Karcraft a call - Hi flow might be the way to go me thinks...
