Once I remove my right and left hand tanks from the car and install the fuel cell I will be left with two holes in the side of my car. THe idea I had was to put to FAKE filler necks in the holes.

3 Questions.
Are left hand tanks worthless enough to just cut the neck off and use that?

Anyone got a spare one as I need two?

Any other ideas?

THanks

Already thought of that Makka but then I would need to buy some churns and it all becomes a hassle.

Oz, there are these chrome "buttons" that plumbers use to block off unneeded openings in sinks etc. You should be able to get them in the size you need to block the holes & still look good. Not sure if Galvins / Tradelink carry them in that size though...

My phucken deluxe has a hole for the rhs tank.
And guess what... its being welded over!
Turned back to a NON COOPER S.
Gosh.
That pisses me off quite a lot

willy, maybe one of your cars previous owners just wanted to get more kilometres out of a tank of fuel, by putting a right hand tank in!!!!!!!!! Bizarre

OK Guys

Thanks for your help so far.

Can I just ask one of my questions again?

IS it a waste of a left hand tank cutting the neck off? Does anyone have another spare one they want to sell (Just cut th neck off and send it to me).

BTW I have now removed my RH Tank - comes with strap (non genuine) and pipe that runs between two tanks plus two as lockable fuel caps with matching keys.

Have seen RH tanks alone sell on ebay for $250 plus so Im looking for $300.00. Will be listing on ebay this weekend. Anyone interested should email me, I will be taking pix this afternoon.

Hey OZ, LH tanks are a dime a dozen. I bought one for $5 once. You could surely get a rusty LH tank for free from someone on here. If I had a spare you could have it.....but I threw out my old rusty one.

Easy to cut the neck off and fabricate something to attach it.

The fake RH tank necks you buy actually screw onto the body, but you shouldn't have a RH tank hole to begin with for these.

Whats wrong with getting a piece of PVC or aluminuim pipe the right size and attaching a cap to that?
It's easier than cutting a tank up, and lighter too.

Fair point

I may just cut the neck off my LH tank and throw the rest in the bin then get a peice of pipe for the RH tank hole.
