Post subject:  Bent Front "S Hub !!!! Oh No !!!!

Hey all, I've worked out why I'm having troubles with my LH Brakes (Keeping seals up to the calipers... )

It appears that when i bolt the caliper up tp the hub, it isnt sitting square.... and on closer inspection, it seems that the "ears" on the hub are actually bent towards the disc !!
Its only about 0.030", but still I'm not happy with it....

So, Repair ? Replace with Stock ? Convert to Honda ?

hhhmmmmmm

you should be able to find another hub without too much trouble...and all mini disc brake hubs (except the cooper 7") will be the same. It is only the calipers that are different.

Try one of the importers...or a 'wanted' add.

Minimad

Ps. Get the correct side though

hey mate , do u think that happened on the way home from wakefield ? cos that would have put huge strain on the caliper brackets, imo go the honda setup ;)

Its possible, but I remember when i first fitted them, that the caliper was close to the disc, so I made up some spacer washers and used it like that for over a year.....

Its been a while, so I'm not in a great hurry to fix it, but I'm just starting the process.......

Anyone Got a LH Cooper "S" Hub for sale ?

Cheers
J

hey james,

There arnt many hubs floating around anymore mate, remember when i was looking for some, took me 12 months to find a pair

You can sometimes find them on UK ebay for around 20 pound a pair, or brand new hubs from minispares aus direct for around $120aus each.

Put it in a lathe, reface the lugs. Easy peasy. If only out .030" you won't even need to shim it.
