Ok... just looking for alternatives to original speedos as I would just like to have the speedo and tacho directly in front of me and the other gauges elsewhere. The clubbie 2 gauge doesn't have a tacho and the don't really need to see the fuel level and temp everytime I look at a clubbie 3 gauge. So, does anyone NOT use an original speedo? What do you use and did anything need to be done to it to get it to work in a mini? |

I put in an MG speedo for testing and by the time I am at the end of the street I'm doing 120MPH ![]() ![]() the Speedo cable just fits straight on but I think a little calibration is needed. It might have something to do with the tiny tens ![]() |

If you go VDO or Autometer, both do electronic speedos. Run off a sensor on the pot joint or wherever, you can program them to be spot on. |

No. But there are little boxes available that convert the cable speed at the speedo. Try Olympic Instruments. |

I'd pic up a set of guages from a Jag XJ6. These can be had cheap as the cars themselves aren't worth much at all. The guages are Smiths, and the speedo is 120mph with a trip meter. Simular to this... ![]() |
