Hey all,
today i installed a boost guage into my mini, that screws directly into the manifold which has a plug hole ready installed (its supercharged by the way) and on the gauge im only getting a negative or vacuum reading whilst iding but then when i accelerate it goes up to 0. If i really give it a bit of a squirt i get +1. It still has a large amount of movement in the needle (from -25 up to 0 or 1) so its performing properly (sort of) but giving the wrong readings, any ideas? HAve i maybe installed it wrong? do i need some sort of adaptor? On the intructions it didnt have any hints.
thanks for your time
trent

sounds like you either have a leak, or it's a dodgy guage....what brand is it?

is the gauge in psi or bar???

It is plumbed into the inlet manifold? should read vacuum at idle that is right, and once boost builds should go into positive pressure.

The Gauge is just some cheapo piece of garbage i bought off ebay, T-sport i think it is and yeas in plumbs directly into the inlet manifold, below is a pic (without the gauge installed). The gauge plumbs into where the bolt is you can just see. So it could be a leak maybe?!? Ill have to check all connections!!

if the guage reads in' bar ' the 1 is actually 14.7 psi

Yep the vacuum sounds right only get a small amount when this kit is fitted but you should get about 7psi boost when the throttle is opened fully will boost as soon as the throttle is opened
