well the worse thing that could happen to me has happened again...
last time it was a 4x4 reversing out of a driveway out in front of me...i had no were to go...end result no more mini...last night it happened again....was just getting ready to turn into my street witch is like 4 car length away from a a set of lights and a cross walk...the lights had turned red and slowley the triffic built up and the cars stopped leaving room for me to drive accross into my street....i crept slowley accross looking for traffic and i saw nothing but a black subaru forseter pulled out from behind another car and planted it and i had no were to go again...the car got hit b the 4x4 doing at least 50 to 60....witch i found stuppid as the lights were still red...he hit me spinning the mini around in a complete 360 witch pushed me into another car...a echo....end result minifreak1 is dead.....ive lost my pride and joy witch has taken me since 2003 to do up the way i wanted it...and lots of money...luckey i and my fiancee wernt hurt too bad...ives got bruising were the 4 way harness pushed into my chest and my fiencees head hit the side window smashing it so shes got a nasty bruise on her head...so im happy were both safe....was told by police that even though the traffic had stopped oncomming traffic dosent have to give way to me so as i diddnt see the 4x4 so im in the wrong for not givving way to oncomming traffic...everyone else gave way to me ...

cars insured with shannons full comp thank god...for $12.000 so hopefully all things work out and i can start hunting down another mini to transfer all my sick mini stuff onto it....the whole front of the car is pushed in but the engine looks still ok...so hopefully i can still use my $6.700 engine just hopeing it diddnt crack anything like the block or gearbox...there wasent a lot of oil on the road just a little bit from the oil coller witch got pierced by the rear of the echo...so im keeping all my fingers and toes crossed that everything will work out for the best and ill still be able to have a mini in my wedding in march...ill post photos as soon as ive got them witch wil be maybe later today...
ill just go and have another cry now....the thought i might have killed my wife to be is just chewing me up inside as i no if i had driven faster accross the road like i normaly do it would have been worse...so i thank god or who ever is up there for looking after my kym and my self...
will keep ya all posted....

Jesus that sucks - and it a relief to hear you're both alive, let alone only minor injuries. It could have gone the other way quite easily, and I hear what you're saying about responsibility for your fiance. It's a different matter if you're the only one in the car, but having other people rely on you for safety, well I guess words can;t express how relieved you are she's not badly hurt. It sounds like it wasn't your fault, regardless as to what the law says. It's something anyone would have done, and this time it went badly.

I hope you and your fiance recover both physically and mentally. It must have been a great shock to you both. I'm so glad you're okay.

Oh, and sad to hear about your mini.

glad to here your all ok. shame about the mini, but life is more important than a bit of tin. To me it actually sounds like the other guy was in the wrong if he had just changed lanes. i guess it makes no difference being that you have full comp. Good luck with your search and go by your fiance a bunch of flowers. it'll make her feel better, unless she is alergic, then she will be pissed

Cheers

Aaron

yes lucky no one was injured to badly...
its an odd statistic that most accidents happen close to home.. looks like youve just added to keeping it that way.. good to see your already thinking about a new mini project

Mate very glad to hear that you are ok. Very sad to heard that your mini is not! :(

You should get salvage rights with shannons so you can keep at least the shell and strip it and do what you want with it so that's good in a way...

thanks to you all....have spoken to shannons and they have comfirmed my payout of $12.000 witch should get me a good running mini witch i can transfer all my goodies onto.
the ambulance guys who took my kym to hospital said we were very lucky we were wearing harnescess as it would have been a lot worse if we were wearing normal seat belts.
next mini will have a roll cage just as an extra bit of protection.
its sooo bad when you see something you built and spent sooo much money on....like just under $18.000 all smashed up ...
i will lookforward to making a minifreak2 as soon as i can..bigger and better than the fist one.

Tough luck with the mini, but at least you are both OK.

Cars can always be repaired/replaced, limbs & loved ones cannot.
Hope you get some time to rest & recouperate.

Another car goes to that big garage in the sky.
I'm truly sorry for your loss, but it's good to know you and the fiance are both alright.
In the next few days you'll find out just how much you mean to people, and what they
mean to you, more than you ever thought you would. If you can get time away from work
I advise you do so, and don't stress over the car. There will be plenty of time for
that after you make a full recovery.

It's also good that you have your eyes fixed on the future of yourselves and your fun,
just keep looking forward and everything will work out.

 Holy crap dude, so sorry to hear. And i thought I was having Mini troubles!

But, despite what the stupid government may think, those 'illegal' 4-point harnesses saved your self, let alone your fiancee.

A mate of mine had the news that a work colleauge had died, in a single car accident, aged 19, on Thursday night. It just makes you realise how fragile the human life is, and how all the measures in the world cannot prevent human tragidies. It always scares me how you could well kill yourself on the road, let alone your innocent passenger. It sure makes you stop and think.

Glad to hear the both of you only recieved relatively minor injuries. Hope to see Freak2 on the road for the big day
