Post subject: | Fuel hose vs water hose |
What are the differences between fuel hose and water hose? (rubber hoses) I figuyre fuel hose prevents against petrol deformity/corrosion. Does water hose have any Pros over fuel hose? Why im asking is i have a length of new fuel hose of the right diameter which im thinking of putting in place of the rubber 'flexi' hose from water pump to head. I obviously dont want to put it there if it cant handle the heat or pressure or somthing like that. Did i mention that i was tight on money? |

Quote: EFI hose is SAE30R9. This has a working pressure of 125 psi and minimum burst pressure of 900 psi. The SAE30R7 hose is only rated for 50 psi and a minimum burst pressure of 250 psi. The construction of the two hoses is different and the temperature ratings also vary.
Here is a good spec sheet on different hose types: http://beltpower.com/pdfs/WH411k_Low_Pressure_Hose.pdf That said, I have never had any problems using fuel hose in place of vacuum or heater hose but would never use anything else for fuel! |

thanks for that awdmoke, this hose is 30R7, perhaps it cannot handle the pressure. Ill just buy some water hose. |

I use 1/2" water hose. I've found the Made in USA stuff is best. Asian hose is crap. Ditto for fuel hose these days. ![]() |
