So after succesfully derusting the clubbie grill I had a few months ago, I thought I'd give this grill a shot as the brown was really letting the rest of the outer bodys excellent condition down :(.

Pulled it of and began with the CLR and green scourer sponge thingies.

~45 mins later I've done one of the smaller stacks on the left end. I counted up the rest and realised I still had 60-70 little shelfs to do and the ones i've done are still not perfect. It seems derusting the edges of the little flats takes a lot more time then the middle no matter how hard I scrub.

It's slowly working and coming up a treat, but fiddle sticks me.. is there a quicker way to do this? I'm going to be on this for hours otherwise!

Rust removal by electrolysis- see http://antique-engines.com/electrol.asp
This does work- we set a rig up at work in a wheelie bin, with a bigass battery charger, for doing conveyor parts.

A big damn bucket of molasses and water (I forget the ratio!) will do the trick too.

Electrolysis aye... hmm, I don't have jumper leads or a batt charger so that might come out a bit pricey :/.

Molasses hey... i'm guessing you just buy them from the supermarket?

You could try the Mythbusters way..........aluminum foil and Coke

The ability to remove rust is ALWAYS a feature I look for in my beverage of choice
