Ok everyone here is the details for R/C Mini racing at Eastern Creek. The Sydney On Road Model Car Club hosts regular race meetings on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month. Practice at the track is permitted from 12:00pm, racing commences at 2:00pm. (race entries close at 1.30pm). Entry fee per class is $10 AUD. Canteen and amenities available each meeting. Currently the main classes being supported at SORMCC are as follows: 1/12th scale - 4 cell Electric touring car modified Electric touring car stock Electric touring car 19 turn spec Nitro touring car Pro/Open Nitro touring car Pull start Mini (i.e. Electric Tamiya Mini) Other classes will be considered providing 4 or more entrants present and enter on the day. With a race meeting happening this Saturday being the 19th of November. But I am not to sure if I will be attending this weekend. The address is Morreau Reserve, Church Street, Eastern Creek, NSW. Check out the following URL for a map in which you can zoom in and out to your preference. http://tinyurl.com/8vgq8 Or here is a map which gives you general directions on how to get there. ![]() In regards to Mini racing here are the following rules which were current the last time I raced there as posted in Ben's thread. Tamiya M01, M03, M03L (which is the BMW Mini) chassis only. Tamiya hop up parts only and the only other engine you are allowed to use apart from the standard 540 is the Tamiya Sport Tuned 540 (black motor). You also must run standard Tamiya gearing and no eagle gear sets are permitted. HPI tyres can be used in place of Tamiya tyres. Any radio control system can be used such as a stick or wheel radio system. Just ensure that your radio runs on the 27MHz, 29MHz or 40MHz system and the modulation can be AM, FM or PCM. 36MHz cannot be used in radio control cars as this frequency is used for R/C aircraft only. All other frequencies such as 72MHz (USA) and so on are Extremely Illegal to use in Australia and carry severe fines and possible jail term if caught. So please ensure your radio is using a legal frequency system for Australia otherwise it will just cause you grief on the day. If you have any further questions let me know ![]() Maybe we can organize a group of Mini and R/C Mini owners to attend one weekend ![]() |

maybe early december? also i dont know if i am up to the standard of racing ...... Yep no worries Ben.. I dont think I will be attending this weekend either as have too much on.. Plus my Mini should have a complete rebuild and clean up as she has been sitting under the bar now for over a year. Plus I think a new shell would add a nice touch to her too ![]() But dont be put off by the standard of racing either.. As thats the beauty of R/C Mini racing as everyones Mini is more or less the same. Well in regards to the motor and chassis anyway. This is where the skill comes in. As a fast Mini is a Mini that is setup correctly and handles well around corners. Unlike Nitro Tourers where you can spend thousands of dollars on them like my Mugen Seki and still not be in the top 10 all the time ![]() Either way I am sure you will have a ball and practice makes perfect ![]() ![]() If you like PM me and I will give you my mobile number that way when you are ready to go racing one weekend we can organize something.. I also have a video somewhere of the Minis racing. So if you want to see it let me know and then you will see how much fun everyone is having instead of being overly concerned about how fast a particular Mini is going or how good a driver is ![]() |
