In this weeks Trading post there was a Clubman convertable, 1978?? for memory, with soft top, roll cage, mags and saas seats and he only wanted $850ono, by the time I rang it was sold. Does anyone know this person? It was from Doncaster in Victoria.
I wondered if it was complied? or had ever been registered or would be sold to be wrecked? As it's quite hard to register something that has been chopped with no engineer?
Hope someone can help.

I was the one that bought it. :D
Its a beast. As you said saas race seats, smicko paint except for some bog in the bonnet, clean engine, a1 condition bumpers and over riders, contessa mags and soft top came with it. It was registered in tassie but that ran out. Completely rust free.
It has black interior which i think is Clubman gt interior being door trims and back seat. Also has a centre exaust.
I'll take some pics soon.

i tried to get it but there was no phone number on the add, when I looked on ebay, and then I had to take my students on a three day camp. I agree that it looked fantastic, adn definately looked as though it had been engineered before, i dont think you will have any troubles! :D
Im just pissed that I didnt get it, you bastard!!! :D

Don't send me any pictures Madarsemini, don't post them. :( if the car is as good as it sounds, and I have missed out on another convertable bargin I'll be kicking myself. :x
It sounds certainly like you got a good bargin. Reckon it'll be easy to RWC and Register?
I actually cant wait to see pictures, although I'll be upset, good on ya for getting in an early bargin. PM me with the pictures if you don't want everyone else to see your great new car.

I am going to get in touch with vic roads as it was engineered in Tasmainia but the bloke I bought it off said he didn't recieve any papers so I am going to see an engineer just to check it over properly. But i think i won't have any problems as it has structure support in and under the mini. Do I need engineers approval for the race seats?

Looks great, & you may as well get the seats signed off too (save any hassles later).
