Post subject: | Van hinges |
I have a 68 morris van and the rear door hinges were taken off a while ago and once putting them back on, i have no idea where which one goes... So i have a pic of all 4 sitting on the ground could any one maby advise me to where which one goes? Does the nut sit at the bottom of the hinge or does the pan headed end with the slot in it sit at the bottom? Any one have a pic of the rear of their van that they could post? Cheers Daniel |

Sorta makes sense you don't want your doors to drop of if the nuts come undone ![]() |

Yeah thats right, i though i had them all in the right order but they dont seem the doors dont seem to fit properly, some how the van must have warped... This is a pic of the top left hinge as you are looking at the back... ![]() This is one of the topr right ![]() See the difference in the gap between the door and the rear of the van? |

Yeah that seems like the next step, there isnt that many ways they can go in.. And if that dosnt fix it then ill just have to move the hinges to suit where the door fits. There has been alot of welding in the van so that probably caused it... |

Do the doors have an even gap down the middle? The hinges could be a bit knackered as well I don't think even panel gaps is a mini's strong point A quick look at nav's doors ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Have a look on the back of the hinges - they have a code stamped into them LL = lower left UR = Upper right etc. At least that the case on the roundie PV I am restoring. |

From this pic the gaps dont look so bad, but they are out, and the doors clash in the middle. And these hinges are new so they shouldnt be stuffed, and ive looked at the hinges and there is some markings on the back but nothin that lets me know what hinge is what... ![]() |
