I got some contessa whell nuts from heritage MG they have a flat chrome finish on them - now they look like contessa sleeved nuts and are the correct 3/8 thread but the nut area is noticeably smaller than my original shiny chrome nuts - ie the socket size for these nuts is approx 5/8 whereas my old ones are 3/4. This obviously reduces the surface that presses against the wheel - would this be a problem or am I just paranoid?

And shame on you if you laughed at the number of times I wrote "nuts" above.

standard mini wheel nuts and original ROH contessa wheel nuts are 11/16.... so maybe your wheels were drilled out for bigger nuts.... by some nut, with no nuts, who maybe liked to eat nuts, and got hit on the nut, by a big nut

Mike,
Last 3 sets of Contessa nuts I bought are all 5/8 hex.
They fit fine. The sleeve part and the taper fit properly.

I have seen the bigger hex ones but not for years.
