25/2.3 = 10.8 Ltrs/100 klms So so I suppose against today's fuel economies. An average 1.3 these days does 5.5 L/100 k's, my 2.5 litre Forrester does between 8 and 11. I've never gauged my Cooper S's fuel economy, I'd rather not know.... |

I get about 300kms out of my 1100, with a 1-1/4 SU. Not fast, but cheap transport as i see it. I can fix a mini cheap, but a water pump on your Festiva/Excel/Astra/Small shitbox jap crap will cost you a weeks wages. ![]() |

we've already had this thread 2 or 3 times already 250-300kms is what you want, and what it should do.. i used to get 300kms out of my old black 1100 stocko, and i'd imagine with a better head, zaust, extractors you could improve on that. if its returning 10L or more per 100kms thats really poor, a crappy commodore or falcon will do that easy |

An average 1.3 these days does 5.5 L/100 k's, It is the basicly the same engine as was in there the starlet etc start with so if these mileage figures are accurate then I suppose it is close to these. Most of the conversions are turbos however so might loose some fuel economy, but the mini should be a bit lighter than most of the donor cars so it wouldn't be too far off I expect. |

i dont believe most fuel economy figures car companies give out...take the prius for instance...its supposed to do 4L/100km (which would be awesome) but it really depends on how you drive it...if you're a bit of a lead foot then that figure easily jumps to over 9L/100km...also the batteries recharge while braking...so if you are doing ALOT of highway driving (ie. not much braking) it tends to use more fuel too... there was a showdown on 5th gear the other night on the lifestyle channel taking the top 3 economic small cars...the prius came last out of the Suzuki Swift, Renault Diesel (something...cant remember what it was exactly) and the Toyota Prius...the swift came 2nd and the renault came first...by quite a large margin too...it did about 45miles to the gallon...the prius did a measly 32miles to the gallon... |

SPACEBOY Your saying im getting a poor fuel economy out of my mini. What reasons could you give for it being less than you expect??? |

Mine and Josh's figures don't count as we are both... how should we say... heavy footed? ![]() I'd be surprised if I got anywhere near 10L/100Km since I drive Lillee in 2 gears only, Go or Werw! ![]() |
