can you explain the diff between a normal head and a cooper head

and what is the budget for a happy wife?

The head he got is a 12G940 MK2 S head. Same casting as a Morris 1100S head except S one has bigger inlet valves and 2 extra head stud holes.

He's lucky he got it- If I'd seen it there last week I would have beat him to it...

Oh well, I got an LS head instead, but it needs exhaust inserts- Makka's S one looks mint. 8)

Mmmmm I'd like a 940 head strapped to the top of my motor. Unfortunately pocketing the block is too much effort - better off porting a 202 and sticking some 295 inlet valves in....

I have heard of somebody who pocketed their block in the car, with the pistons still in no less! I believe he cut round pieces of cardboard and put some silastic to seal. I believe the engine only lasted about a year after that then broke, for some inexplicable reason

I did mine in the car back in '68... used Vegemite jar lid to protect the Imp pistons. Took a few hours careful work. 1275 gasket and good to GO. It blew away S's... :P

You don't need a head with big MK2 S inlets valves for a 1098- an 1100S or Mini LS one is fine.

I am very envious! I want a racing harness for my Mini, but unfortunately my racing seat doesn't have harness holes. I wondering whether a competant motor trimmer could add them for me...
