no disrespect meant here, but,,,the parts to overhaul a mini gearbox add up to way more than $490, not counting gasket & seal kit & not counting the drop gear bearings & not counting the "matching primary case" thing , or even the idler thrust factor. so,,,well,,,ar... i`d be spending the "right" amount of money & getting my own "matching" cases with all the new bits needed actually fitted. add 6 hours labour to do the job right & , well,,, no offence but-------->?????????????? |

If you are going to rebuild even part of the box you might as well do the whole lot properly. The going $$$ is from $1000 exchange not incl freight, to about $1500 and you throw away your box. Not one of the companies i contacted mentions wether they come with a matching primary case. They can supply a primary case but it wont sit perfectly on the box and it will eat the idler gear bearings pretty quick. P.s Matt don't forget i'm coming around tomorrow. to drop off my boat anchor ![]() ![]() |

yeah,,,like i said, no offence or disrespcet meant at all,,,if they have heaps of New Old Stock & are able to clean up a heap of baxes, then cool,,,but we also have the situation where you might need a few Gears like 2nd esspecially ,,,I`d be charging for any gears needed & also a main shaft if needed,,,now there`s nearly allways gonna be a Leyshaft & bearings needed,,,the el-cheap ley shafts aren`t even worth p!$$ing on they`re so dam soft anyway,, No worries NAV...i`ve dug out 2 complete gearbox & Primary case assys so far & onto getting a third one out from the back of the shed too ![]() There`s more to a mini box than meets the eye |
