heya there...

So lately ive been having a lil problem with taking off or using low revs.

My mini bogs down and has now power, till i back of the accelerator and put my foot down gradualy...then i can take it all the way up its revs nicely.

ANY IDEAS???

things u should know:
-timing has been done.
-carby seems tuned well. and is in good nick. but hey, maybe there is something wrong.
-the contact points were done about a month ago.
-a plug number 2 keeps fouling. but the plugs a three days old now. i changed them to see if thats wat the prob was....nope its not.

its been suggested to me that its the points.

cheers if anyone can help.

its a 1.5 su.

i dont think its too rich, cos wen its up to normal temp and i press the piston lifting pin, it seems to cut revs down right away, but not enough to knock out the engine...no real rev increase....umm yeh hard to explain. lol

my bet is, it's a carby issue, my old 1.5" used to do it...

I never did find the cause of the problem, it was always a little hessitant if you stomped on it..fine after that though..but after going to the dellorto it was night and day 8)

I love my dellorto..

Idea..is there oil in the dashpot?

clean out your carby, and get the needle checked out or changed and a tune by a professional

Take it to someone who knows what they are doing.
Or a dyno place.
They will tune your distributor - time your motor.
And also tune your carburettor to your motor.
THat is springs (if needed), needle, (or jets depending).

Could also be your spark breaking down under load.

Maybe try checking the dizzy cap, leads, rotor button, condensor, points etc.

oil too heavy in the dashpot? spring too strong?

that would damp the piston movement too much as you open the throttle and make it hesitate

also check that the number two Hightention leads is working if the spark plugs is fowling !

Sounds like tune up time, check the points gap and timing and also make sure the vacume advance is connected and that it is working alright also check that the advance plate in the dizzy is not frozen, hope you find the cause
