I am replacing a water pump atm and as i pulled the top hose off the radiator (the short fat curved one) the metal pipe came out of the radiator with the hose
it hasnt come off in ages and i had to pull hard and the pipe came out of the radiator with the hose

question can i just slide it back in and leave will it stay or do i need to get it welded or glued or something
has this ever happened to anyone

Oh dear mate sorry to be the bearer of bad news. You need to pull the radiator out and take it to a radiator specialist. The top hose pipe is soldered in and it needs to be able to withstand a fairly high pressure when you are mpotoring along so it needs to be done properly.

The reason it popped out is that the whole radiateris fairly corroded and WILL be full of mud.
A radiator specialist will do wonders with is for about $150-200. When a cooling systme begins to fail there are usually a number of contributing factors. The water pump is only part of the picture unfortunately.

You can either take it to a rad place and pay $100 or whatever, or buy a new one. You can't just shove it in, it'll leak and fall back out.

I have a 2 core in Barney, but today I bought the cheapo 3 core for Ha-Ha as his top tank sprang a leak.
3 core is about $157, which is $100 less than 2 core- it looks much like an Oz S/Deluxe/K one but has only about 1/2 as many fins on it.

I'm not worried as the car still has the `matic heater/aux rad, and ran too cool anyway.

wheres the best place to get a rad from for a mini

Ring around for the best deal. I got mine from Karcraft as they were nearby.

You could get yours repaired/recored by Natra or whoever, but it'll probably cost more than a new one.

ok thanks its an s one though and thats the one i want as i like to plumb the back of the rad to the head but i think its on its last legs was this the type which you got from karcraft mayb i will just order from there

S one is exactly the same as a Mini Deluxe, 16 gills (fins)/inch.
earlier Oz rads (850 etc) were only 12.

so has the pipe comming out the back of the rad to plum to the head

im not really concerned about the fins just want to set it up like it is atm and that with a pipe running around the back to the head

If there's a pipe going over top & down the front of rad it's a late Clubby one. Can't buy new...
if that's what you've got/need, get it repaired/recored.
That pipe is for the heater, it goes to bottom tank.

Id go new.

I scored a 3 core for $160 or $180 i think.

Would have been about $200 to get my old one Reco'd.
