I did something similar but not as bad a while back. 
Whenever I put something in a drill, I hold the chuck and put the drill in fast mode and turn it on, and the jaws open and close very quick. So I open it, place a wire wheel in, put my hand on the chuck once more and fire it up. Well it certainly tightened onto the shaft alright, but then it kept spinning, and I buffed up a nice portion of my hand. It's not one scrape, its 50 deep scratched. The more annoying of the two.

Ouch, I've been bitten too. On the soft skin under my wrist. But yeah, they will go through most clothing. Some heavy welding gloves & apron are good protection tho. |

Yep as per normal the safety Shoes were on..  And yep I had a pair of shorts on at the time. I was blinging some Dunlop Wheels up and I slipped as I was putting a bit of pressure down..it court on the shorts and kept digging

Ouch!, Done the same thing on my belly with a sanding disk on an angle grinder, taking paint off my old mini. |

Angle grinders & wire wheels are lethal sometimes. I'm so over getting 'stung'  I've found delegation is now the key

anyone see that episode of monster garage when the guy is grinding and it kicks back and hits him in the mouth? they run over and have a close lok and he has ground 2 teeth off...gross. He said it tasted foul DaViD |
