don't you hate that the UK is so far away and it costs so much for freight, this would be a fun car and legal to bring in without to much hassle

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Midas-Bronze-Mini ... dZViewItem

and so cheap over there

Jon

Its wet, dark, foggy, smoggy, the fruit is bad, the beer is average at best and the food is ..... lets not talk about the food. Oh and did I mention the bad weather.

I'd love to go and live in the UK again for a couple of years but I'm happy to be right where I am, 5 minutes from the beach and for the UK to be where its at,5 minutes away from the tube - there's a good reason so many poms settle here.

Yep, mike is right - and more - the houses are cramped, londonites think it is their moral duty to try to rip everyone off, and petrol is a ridiculous price, as is car insurance (which is compulsory or you get six penalty points) because there are so many thieves about.
And this is coming from a pom.
The people (especially from uppp north) are great - but still, the place is crap. That's why there are so many of us here.
Slight disagreement about the beer - ales, as opposed to lagers, aren't meant to be stone cold - but I can't fault a coopers sparkling or two (or three). :P

cheers!

5 minutes from the Pommie tourists and Lebanese gangs that OWN the beach. Good luck with the fight today, I hope you reclaim your beach. Or even better, hire the Aussie BRA BOYS to fight your battles for you, and I am familar with some of their members and the BANKSTOWN BOY'S.

well at the moment its about $400 Au for the car duty is $60 and GST $46 but the kicker is the $2500 for frieght and its a pre 89 so no problems getting approval to bring it in and rego is pretty easy, so all up about $4000 should see it here and on the road :D

Its a group of Maroubra kids, mostly surfers many but not the majority from the housing commision estates at Maroubra who got together in the 70's really as a way of distributing the surfing spots and times on the brilliant reap at M'ra beach (Bra boys as in Maroubra boys) - over the years they were associated with surfing, martial arts, getting stoned, fights with the cops and all the other fun stuff at Maroubra and surrounding suburbs. These days Marouba beach is lined with multimillion dollar houses and its a gang that is mainly about drugs and surfing is forgotten (I know of guys who claim to be bra boy surfers and go to Bali and Havaii without a single board - just laying on the beach f'ed up off their tits).

Today the whole concept of "bra boys" is something that those whose idea of a beach is the undercover airconditioned pool at Rooty Hill RSL - use to justify not going to the beaches. Maroubra and Bondi beach are btw beaches where you can (and I have often) sit with a lady on the sand at 5 am in the morning and nothing will happen to you (apart from that incident with the clap, but lets not talk about it).
