Smoke, flames!!! I knew there a reason why there were 2 unmarked plugs at the back of the alternator!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() Whole garage smells of burnt PVC and I ****** have a brown stain in me undies from it! Dude I'm sorry its my fault, I wrote you a complete set of instructions with all the precausions etc in response to your PM and was gonna post it in the horn topic, but explorer crashed on me and I lost the whole long post and didn't have the time to write it again because of uni and my car which is still stuck alone in Broadway. I'll post a complete guide on how to do it tonight, but the main thing to remember is to connect the B+ plug to the starter and the light wire to the L side on the moulded plug (if its the Bosch alternator). BTW are you sure that you had an alternator in your car before and not a dynamo? What side of the battery is connected to the body of the car? |

If you remember, you said it had a Clubbie alternator... and they have two + terminals.. ![]() <edit> The 8TR probably died so they fitted a 4TR. They are all cr@p these days, IMO- I gave mine away with the POS alternator (after 3 rebuilds) and got a late Clubbie alt. No worries... ![]() |
