Ok, Odd request, but bear with me for a moment...

Took the Brick out today, retared the ignition about 2' and took it for a blast in the 40' heat ... brought it up onto boost and DEFINITELY Heard the evil sound of Pinging.... slowed down again... flicked my safety switch for the Water injection, and repeated the experiment .... NO Change... tried again. NO Change, Third time, there was a definite reduction in pinging - ran out of road then, But I'm certain i'm on the right track with regards to Jet size and placement ......

BUT.....

Because of the positioning of my water-injection pump and tank (Under Passenger-side dash) to ensure that hydraulic lock was near-impossible, I now find i have an issue......

The First full-power squirt or two, has basically NO water coming out of the jet, mostly becasue its all drained back into the tank - Nozzle is above tank height !

So, in effect, i need some sort of one-way valve to make sure the line stays primed and ready for action at any moment ...

I recall seeing something like it on a Clubbie i once had (And dismantled) and it was on the wind-screen washer line .. probably for exactly the same reason !

So, is this a standard fitment part, where can i get one... ever used on ANYTHING else ?

The one i recall was a small black plastic cylinder that could "Twist" apart, and had a ball-bearing inside (Maybe also a spring.. cant remember) and a barbed fitting at each end for the hose ....

HELP ?

all the early Minis with the push button washer had one in the line.
Or if you go to a pneumatic fittings place they would have small inline check valves that would do the job.
SMC, Festo, etc.

You could try injecting Methanol using a single fuel injector. I know its a lot of work to fit it but the advantage is you'll cool the charge and not loose the energy fuel rating...
