same colour as my race engine cos of all the money i have pumped into it.
looks good but i hope you stripped it doan and sprayed each part individually and themn reassembled it. or you could just spray it and everything else gold including the lifting hook.tut tut. still looks good.

Thanx Will-i-am....I actually wondered what you would think, because you were asking about motor colours recently.

Version 1 was painted separatley first, then assembled.

Version 2 was assembled, then painted.

MUCH easier doing it the second way!!! of course I didn't paint the hoses, machined faces, moving parts etc! :P

My wife says it's like Gold Bullion! Yea...it's starting to cost as much!!

Yeah i think its actually REALLY nice.
You going to chuck an alloy cover on it?
It looks good - nice and simple - not over the top.
Nice quality paint too, from the pics - what brand is it?

Ya Looks Awesome Anton :)..

I cannot believe how fantastic it looks and never would have thought a gold painted engine would look so nice :)...

BTW what you going to do with your old engine?

Very well spotted Will-i-am..... it was $45 / 500ml

POR15 Engine Enamel

http://www.ppc.au.com/enamel.htm

Awesome stuff! Takes 6 days to dry. Hammer tough when dried!

The same bling alloy rocker cover is going back on.

Erica, it's actually the same motor, but we stripped it and tweaked it a 'lil  Fresh rings, some head mods, duplex timing gear, new carb with custom porting in the inlet manifold. I also had to fix the tight idler gear. It was the gasket thickness that was causing the problem. The old gasket was .030" uncompressed, .020" compressed, causing the idler to be tight. The new gasket was .040" uncompressed and .030 compressed.

End float is now .005" 8)

Oh I see and did not realize it was the same engine :)..

Either way its fantastic and I am glad to hear that you sorted out the idler gear problem

Also have to agree with Minsta JAM certainly has to be worth more than ten grand now :D

BTW how much of that paint did you use? As in is 500ml enough to do the whole engine?

thanx for the support

I used half a 457ml tin. Can do another GOLD motor with the leftover :P

I thinned it by 10% and sprayed it. ALL other colours in their range can be brushed, but the GOLD needs to be sprayed bacause of the pigmet.

The people at PPC are awesome to deal with! I take a drive out there any buy direct, but have bought online from them before.

My GT (Reg) will have all PPC brand materials on the bodywork (POR15), except the primer and colour, which will be PPG brand (not related).
