 Post subject: scuttle pannel ?????

can someone tell where/what is the scuttle pannel. Isnt there supposed to be a body number on it??

I always thought the scuttle was the panel under the bumpers, they get called beaver panels in the UK mags, so that name is catching on... it always makes me giggle though... :lol:

Scuttle is the one under the windscreen. Hence the term scuttle-shake in convertible cars.

Later Rovers with no radiator shroud have the body number stamped into the water gutter at the front of the scuttle where the bonnet closes.

On older round noses,the number should be stamped under your id tag which should be fixed on the firewall just above the master cylinders. the number stamped there should match the one on the id plate
