hey guys i own a 72 clubman, i am adjusting the clutch to try and get the thing into gear, i have adjusted it to specs in book using a feeler gauge and it had made the clutch really awkward to push in

this doesnt seem normal, all fluid levels are right!! hydrolics are working!

Ahhhhh McCabe, you've done it again :!:

What you mean by awkward :?: :?: :?: ....they are not a light clutch at all....so pedal effort is higher than most modern cars....maybe some squats and weight training are in order :D

Do you have a spring across the slave cylinder on top of the clutch housing :?: this can add to the heaviness of the pedal if it is not original.

Is the clutch operating now :?: Can you move the car :?:

maybe by awkward you mean that it's hard when you first push the pedal, then kinda gets easy all of a sudden as you get close to the floor - take some adjustment out if that's the case, cos you don't want it going in too far... but it's not a big deal.

it'll always feel wierd after adjusting, because you get used to it a particular way and then it changes all of a sudden, particularly if it was a long way out before you adjusted it
