Post subject: | restoring old 72 clubman |
hey i am restoring my 72 clubman and i have just finished cleaning the door cards and seats. the rear side cards next to the seats, is there any screws to remove them or special ways to do it and is it safe to get the hose out to clean up the floor so i can inspect for rust and damage? |

I wouldn'tput any water in the car, since it will take forever to get it out. Just go down the $2 shop and get a can of degreaser or similar. That'll work fine. |

Just go down the $2 shop and get a can of degreaser or similar. That'll work fine. the problem stands at a load of dirt and wood chips hangin about in the floor... so u dont think that hosing it out is safe or visable |

It's probably OK, just ensure there's no battery connected or any electrical things that cold be affected by a mist from the water. The point still is if you put water in there it will only create more of a mess to clean up. Since it's not going to drain easily (assuming yourfloors are solid) withoit turning the car on is side I wouldn't bother. Easiest way would be to let it stay dry, or let it do so if it isn't. Then any regular dustpan, brush and vacuum can get it all clean. |

Post subject: | rust in footwell |
after managing to clean up the passenger footwell and get the wire brush out onto the rust i have found daylight!! only small cracks and a couple of minor holes!! i guess this means going to extremes and cutting the section out!! DAMN!! |
