Hmm... Ok i have the passenger side door switch (the thing that the door closes on to switch the interior light) and not the drivers side one.
I am installing an alarm right now and I need this part. I took out the passenger side to have a squiz at it, and the shaft of it is bent 90* then the wire is bulleted onto that.
I went to "Mini King" :roll: to see what they had and he assured me that the one he gave me will fit. It didnt. It is a straight shaft, not 90*.

It only goes in about 1/2 way, then hits on the back of something. Now im gonna go to Morris Mania to see if hes got the PROPER one, but what have other people done?

BTW, im not gonna put in those daggy bloody universal huge mofos. :lol:

Early Mini ones are NLA. I used to cut, bend and solder Clubbie ones, but no more... :x

Late Rover Mini ones fit sweet. I got 2 in mine now. :P

Why not??? Those things are well built, and the pin can be shortened if necessary.... You can even use em on your bonnet and boot :wink:. Only the mounting fascia is big (makes it strong), the unit itself is fairly shallow....

Theyre from Jaycar, they were $5.55 each, or 4 for $17.20 when i last checked...

I too am thinking about fixing this on my car... I have the interior light, the two original door push thingies, just need to connect them up.

Are the orignal ones ok? or should I just go with a new set from karcraft?

It all depends on how much Pain in the arse you consider the installation to be vs the cost of new switches in terms of your free cashflow. I call it the PIA\Price ratio.

If you consider it a major PIA make all you can to ensure you wont have to do it again.

All it takes to fit the Rover ones is one self tapper (gives guaranteed body contact, unlike originals). And they do work properly all the time, too.
