Post subject: | Boot Floor - Im About To Loose Mine |
Just emptied out my boot to clean it out, lifted up the carpet and I can see through holes to the concrete garage floor. If i push hard enough I can flex the rust and it would easily fall through if i hit it. Whats the plan to fix it ? New floor panel ? Thanx in advance for any help!! ![]() |

depends how far gone it is..if it's just in the tire well then you can just cut it out and weld in any old flat piece of metal.. Check your battery box as well.. and also the corners below where the tail lights are.. |

Luckily its just where the tire sits. Rest of the boot is nice and strong, along with battery box. So nothing serious I now know ![]() |

got similar problem in lizzie... but mine is right at the back, you can buy a repair panel for around $60 and it goes from one side to thbe other thats what i am going to do!.... you can actually buy a whole boot floor repair panel so maybe you can buy one of them and just cut out the bits that you need?? |

Max, when you are ready, I've got access to a MIG welder, and I'm sure we could teach you to MIG in about 20 mins.... Easy peasy, we'll chat about it soon, I'm sure ![]() J |

For JAM I used a flattened out drivers door skin, cut and worked to the right profile. For my GT I am going to spend the dosh and buy a WHOLE boot floor from Karcraft. $350 ish I believe. Yea it's expensive, but for some things you can't skimp out. |
