ok .... I'm looking for ANY info at all about how this accessory was originally fitted to the late clubbys please. Pics, instructions, tips, where the cable is fed through in the firewall ... whatever you can offer would be great. Also was the grille any different on cars fitted with this accessory i.e. did it NOT have the rectangle hole in the grille for the external bonnet release? This is all I have. This is a pic from an accessories brochure which I've scanned. All it shows though is where it was fitted inside the car. ![]() Thanks - much appreciated. |

I used to have one on my wife's Clubby, which I got off a Morris 1100. Fits the same way with the cable about the right length too. Cheers, Watto. ![]() |

Hey Watto, Did you just feed the cable throught the hole in the firewall that the wiring loom goes through? Also can you remember if the cable where it enters the release mechanism (at the bonnet) has one or two circlips? Cheers, BC. |

My GT has one fitted. It's still in place too and looks like a period accessory, not a later after market type. Will send you some pics on the weekend BC. |

The internal bonnet release was standard on 998 LSs right? http://www.miniclub.hu/archive/catalog/minils-h.htm Anyway the above link shows the front of a 998LS scanned from a brochure you can see the cut out in the grill. ![]() Parents have a LS there was a box thing mounted near where the normal bonnet release is a cable ran to it from the handle pictured... I didn't have a real good look when I was up there... Maybe ask Smokie he has a 998 LS AFAIK |

I actually thought that the bonnet release was an option but according to that brochure they're a standard item. You around Smokie?? Did/does you're LS have one of these bonnet releases and if so do you have any pics of how it's fitted? |
