I haven't seen a kit, but all you would do (apart from blocking the hole)
is remove the handle and add an arm to the inside with a high torque actuator.
But if the system fails, you'd need to have a way to get in! :D

I did it on my one of my Minis. I just went to an auto wrecker and picked up a cheap electric trunk latch from another car. Then I just welded up a bracket for the latch and I installed the metal tab that hooks into the latch on the inner boot lid, welded up the hole that the old handle attached through and wired it up. Took a couple hours but it is worth it. I also installed some hinges with gas shocks to eliminate the external boot hinges and so it will open fully on it's own. I also added a hidden cable release incase the battery dies and I still want to open the trunk.
I'm also installing keyless entry on my flip up front. I'm using two electric latches so I will have a safety if one happens to let go and an indicator LED to let me know if one does come unlatched. The front of the car lifts itself with gas shocks that I got from the rear door of a Minivan. The power to the latches runs through a relay that interupts the power while the car is in the run position so I cannot accidentally open it while I am driving. I shouldn't have any problems with vehicle inspections here in Canada if I happen to get an inspection notice. Not so sure I would get away with it in Aus. You guys and gals have it tough. I salute you for even trying to have a car hobby when you can even have painted calipers!

Sorry about the calipers. And I'm sorry that I'm going to detail the Accord calipers I put on my Mini and have them powder coated so they will look sexy and be easy to clean. Damn they are going to look nice. I just have to decide on colour.

I don't have any pics of the trunk mechanism. I'll try and remember to take a couple shots when next time I'm out working on it. It's pretty simple depending on what latch you get and if you have a welder.
