998_Clubman - i'm from newmarket

nah, all the parts are going into the other shell that i have sitting in the yard. that was always the plan. just needs a bit of a clean up and some paint. guess it'll happen a lot sooner than i originally figured.

some of you may be aware that my car is the photoshop contest car for this month. if anyone has the ability to photoshop it BACK INTO A CAR in reality please dont' hesitate to contact me :P

My guess is Ford French Blue (non metallic) but it's hard to judge from a pic.

yes dewey got it right (wonder how ;) )

it's late 20th century VW golf colour "Jazz Blue" minus the pearl

it's really really really bizarre because not a single part on the car is damaged other than the panelwork itself. almost like it's begging me to hurry up and reshell it.

anyone have any idea how the insurance side of it works ? the woman-who-hit-me's insurance already contacted me and they're gonna sort out an assessor to come out and have a look at it. it's obviously irrepairable, but i wanna keep the car without a doubt.. anyone have experience with this kinda thing ?

laws differ between states. Some insurance companies take posession of your vehicle when they pay out its market value. Happened with my wifes car she wrote off. If you want the car back you need to pay an agreed wreck value, or if they are pricks you need to buy it from their auction.

If its only panel damage the other insurance company may elect to repair it. They will do this every time even if it means they will save a few dollars. If you have no insurance I think you can get quotes, and elect to recieve the repair value in dollars, rather than have a beater repair it. I would take this option and use the cash for your reshell!

Anton.
