Battery goes behind the drivers seat and the spare goes behind the passenger seat :).

To get the driver's seat to move further back in my van I moved the battery back further to a cut out in the load floor immediately beind the door pillar. It's a double floor there, same as the other side where the spare wheels goes, but is effectively "wasted space".

This way the battery is well out of the way concealed under an easy removable panel fixed to the load floor with a couple of clips. The load floor is carpeted so the panel is'nt visible anyway. To get to the battery, just lift the carpet at the front, unclip the lid and there it is sitting in it's own ready-made "box".
