ahh the voice of the in-experienced, what can i say.

The fact that you get burst proof locks, better heaters (IMO) padded dash etc etc. Why would you go and spend hundereds on clubman panels to fix the beaten front if you had a perfect roundie for panels in the backyard that had been hit up the back.... i mean, if your going to paint it anyway, who cares really, the only time where theres going to be an extra cost, is when you buy the clubby panels as you suggest.

I dont mind the clubman rear lights, you have the options open you wish to put in clear or different colored lenses, as all mk3 onwards minis had, some suggest clubmans (certain years) had better rust prevention measures than the early roundies, clubmans being later model, more often than not have done less kms(miles) than earlier cars so that in it selfs another pro.

Has anyone here ever put a roundie front on a clubman.. if so, how hard is it tweaking the inner guards to fit? or do you put the roundie front, including the innner guards on and weld it all up? any pics, or any help at all would be greatly appreciated!! cheers -Cam

Ozmotorsport had one years ago, done by M&MW... but I can't remember what inner guards it had on. I know there were no bonnet hinges, it was held on pins...

Wouldn't the car then just be a roundnose with a Leyland interior and a few other things? No offence, but I don't see the point. Now a Rover front on a van!!!

Well apparently a few years back roundies were flavour of the month but many were rusty (so what's changed, haha). Putting a roundie front on a Clubby meant at least it looked like a roundie... and M&MW did quite a few I heard.

Of course Beefa, why didnt we think of that I sound my roundie conversion for good $$$$ My current car is a lot better but if I sold it I wouldn't get anywhere near the same $$$$ cause it's a square nose. To answer the question about the inner guards, from memory they were cut abour halfway along and then bent out a little to meet the "Roundie" innner guards and then just welded onto the sides and sealed. Im not being a smart ass ozmotor but why bother with all that stuffing around? If you have that kind of money to do that kinda crap you may as well buy a really nice roundie or clubbie

I heard it the other way round. Later clubbies (post 74?) had crap rust protection (Leyland changed the roto dipping process?).

The roundies IMO have better door locks, the clubbies have crap inside door handles, heaters only work when they want to and the rust in the earlier clubbies is worse then the roundies (I know this from Junior and Beefa). If you put the roundie front on a clubby, you will need to get it engineered and an engineers certifcate which could and most likely will be more then the bonnet, 2 side panels and a bumper off another clubby. Its easier for the person if they either buy another clubbie or fix the front of the smashed car.
