| Post subject: | Indicators have stopped |
Having a bit problemo with indicators. They were working good then stopped, wiggled a few bits n pieces got em workin, now they are dead again. Anywhere in particular should i be looking? cheers |

Could be anywhere..the connections on the indicator stalk, somewhere at the fuse box? I dunno..i've had the same thing happen once, was indicating to go around a round about (small one) and as i went in the indicators stopped, funny thing was it was a cop giving way to me straight ahead  i pulled over after and wiggle a few things and they've worked ever since

Whatever you jiggled probably has a loose connection. Could nnever fail you again or breakdown tommorow for good unless you have a look  .

Its a new indicator stalk, gonna have to search for the loose connection or just drive in a straight line |

Wind both windows down and use your arms for indicating, you'll be right.

Find the indicator flasher unit.. Should be under the steering wheel above the pedals area.. somewhere around there. Then get a wire tester and check the 3 wires.. power going into it, and each signal going out of it.. Thats usually where indicator problems are.. you may have to replace the flasher unit if it's old, they don't cost much.. but could just be a lose connection. |

Fuse fuse fuse fuse fuse. 80% of wiring problems start at the fuse box. Steve blew two fuses in the LS when he replaced the front brake line... thanks steve

Also try using a multimeter as it will give you a better reading ..
If you dont have they are cheap to buy and well worth the money and heaps better than a test light. Also you can get them with built in buzzers to test the condunity of wires, circuits and fuses. Sometimes fuses can look good but indeed they are kaput. But a multimeter with a built in buzzer solves this instantly for you ..

i didn't mention fuses cause i thought that would have been checked.. you don't really need a multimeter as with the flasher unit there is either power to it or none, or it either works or doesnt.. if you need to borrow a multimeter or test lamp or whatever just give us a yell |
