Coffee/tea/XXXX, Stanley knife blade in a scraper handle...patience and care...

If you're like me, you'll loose it and start throwing things if you're not in the right mood before you start.

An old wood chisle with a reasonably sharp , but not razor sharp blade , is good , you can put some force into the handle safely , just keep pushing away from yourself though .....

I use a new 3/8" square HSS toolbit, held at a slight angle...
For real stubborn ones, a straight (not cup) twistknot wire brush on angle grinder...
Don't use it on the pistons though- leave `em down the bore.

Take all the head studs out first, and check there's no burrs around the holes. If there are- countersink holes with a csk drill bit, or file gently.
