Hi :) I just recently got my brakes done, with new pads put on. I noticed today that when i brake, there is a high pitched squeaking type thing.. coming from the brakes. Could this be because they are new? Or could it be the brake pads themselves? I am using black stuff pads, which i requested, but my mechanic had not used before. Anyone had any problems with these pads?

They do squeak/squeal a little until bedded in.
We have them on Barney. Great road pads.

For better or worse - I was always told that for new pads (both racing and street) take them and and give them four big brakes and then drive normally and they are bedded.

By big brakes, I mean get to 80 kays and then hit the brakes but dont lock them up, make the pads work. Do it in quick succesion and then drive the heat out of the pads by just driving normally for ten minutes or so.

Might be wrong but thats what a lot have told me over the years.
