Hey all!
Need some help, what would be the ideal tyre size for 12" rims on a mini?
Are 155/80r12 too big??

Try 165/60-12.

I put the figures into the Tyre Calculator.. to get the the overall diameter..

Here are the results compared to other tyre/rim sizes

175/50/13 = 505mm
155/80/12 = 553mm
165/70/10 = 485mm

Sure they work. Handling is better with the 165/60s though!

<edit> pretty sure original factory size was 145/70-12, not those 80 profile.
people fit them `coz they are cheaper.

they'll make your speedo read incorrectly..

falkens or simex tyres in 165/60
are a much better option and are cheap enough its not worth considering anything cheaper.

anything with a rolling diameter bigger then 550mm will not fit on a mini full stop. Get some 165/70/12's they are pretty cheap anyway.

Yeah my mate did the mistake of buying some 70 profile tires for his 12" wheel.
Scrubs like all buggery on the gaurd, even with just the driver in the car.
Its bad news people, stick with 60 profile!
