The $100 74 Clubby, bought from the friendly drunk guy who talked himself down $200. Bought as a non-runner, Peter (other half) got it started with a screwdriver and a lot of determination (no steering wheel, and no keys = dead ignition barrel, too), though it sounded like a demonic lawnmower, courtesy of one piston having a half centimetre vertical play. Something's fried, but we won't know exactly what it is until we pull the block apart.

Well, I don't think he was a drunk, as opposed to just plain getting drunk, and it seemed to be because he had to sell most of his belongings (he said the government was compulsorily acquiring the property).

He'd bought it from his neighbour the year before(and hadn't registered it), with the intent of fixing it up, and had left it in his shed, losing the keys sometime in the interim.

So, on a technicality, I'd say we got it from the neighbour - he went and got the 'Application for Registration and CTP' papers and put his information in the 'previously registered' fields.

But I don't think he was selling it because he was drunk - when the other half turned up three hours earlier, he wasn't drunk, and he was fine when we went to get the papers the next day.

And as far as shady goes, I was pretty shaky on the way home - he scared me a little
