Hi, I have just recently viewed a 2nd owner Mini 850, which I was intending to buy. The car is all original with around 60000 miles. The car is not registered and requires a blue slip, although the body & paintwork are in good condition, with only slight surface rust in some places. The engine requires new mounts/rubbers, rocker cover gasket, exhaust gasket and the wheels require ball joints. Having been my first mini experience, I was calling upon fellow enthusiasts to please let me know what a reasonable price for an original '64 mini 850 is considering the above description (factoring the repairs needed for rego/blue slip) as I intend on placing an offer to the owner by tomorrow. Any info is greatly appreciated. Rick |

If there is no major rust, paint is neat and the motor runs without to much smoke then an offer around 3 grand sounds about right. |

Hmmm, don't forget the dodgy ball joints , mounts and gaskets etc , does the owner keep up with mini trends or is it just an old car they're attached to ? I'd say start at $1,000 and work up if they look shocked , also ask them for a figure "around" what they are looking for ? |
