New to your site - we have a 1973 Austin 1300 and was wondering what its value might be. It runs well, roadworthy and registered. It has only done 20,000 since fully reconditioned engine and gearbox. Body needs a paint job as it has faded. Any ideas would be appreciated. :D :?:

First question.... Is it an Austin 1300 or a Morris 1300? Very few Austin 1300s came into aus, whereas the Morris 1300 was built in Sydney.
Next... Is it an Australian built car or an Import?

Do you have a pic?

Welcome

I would love to see pictures of your Austin.

Have you been to AOA?

It is definitely an Austin 1300 and it is not in Australia but is situated at Mother In Laws home in New Zealand. We have thought about bringing it here but undecided. If someone tells me how to add a picture I will submit a photo.
Cheers
Maureen

An Austin 1300 would be a rare thing over here! There are a couple over here but not many.
To post a pic you need to put the picture on the web and link the location to this thread.
I use Imageshack http://imageshack.us/ to host my pictures, it is free and easy.
Cheers
Michael.

The best place to talk about the 1300 would be at http://lists.topica.com/lists/mg1100/read it is a mailing list for 1100/1300 owners.

Do I spot NZ plates on the Austin 1300?

There is an Austin 1300GT in a factory in Melbourne somewhere. It was supposedly imported from NZ, but I haven't seen it personally.

Yes it has NZ plates as it is still over there in MIL's garage. Considering bringing it depending on costs.

I looked up the discussion site mentioned but it was only on 1100 but thanks anyway.
Cheers
Maureen.

PS Does anyone know what it would be worth if we brought it here??????

$1000 to $3000 If all original and in excellent condition with spotless engine bay. If 1300 does it have original basket weave patterned seats and all those beautiful gauges. Sorry but not many people want them and if they do its for the 1275 motor. If your wanting to sell cantact an Austin club as you will find an enthusiast.
