Any place that sells s/h Mini parts (eg Northern Mini Parts) would have them. they are oval shaped with 3 holes in. Only were used on dry subframes. Why? No idea...

I'm planning on changing my subframes over from Wet to Dry, I've been reading a few posts regarding dry subframes and there has been mention of spacers that go between the tower and the body. I don't have any, and was wondering if they could be made? What are they made from? and does anyone have a picture of what they look like? size and dimensions if possible. or even better, know of somewhere in Melb that I could get some from.. Cheers Mat |

the spacers are needed - the dry subframe has a lip on the bolt hole and the big hole that would crush up into the crossmember if the spacer wasn't there - the subframe tower is physically shorter no-one ever believes me, but it's dead simple to use rubber cones in hydro subframes, I did that with my blue S... |

Well I believe you as I've got a pair of wet frames that I've trial fitted dry cones to, all seems well. |

The Beauty is that if you use the Hydro top arms, you actually get a HIGHER spring rate than with Dry arms ! dont forget to drill the top arm to take a larger bolt needed for the Shock-absorber though.... Mine has COnes in a Hydro subframe with Hydro top arms..... those that have driven it say it rides a LOT firmer than most dry cars.... A combination of worn-out Clubman cones, Hydro top arms, Gabriel Gas shocks, and Hi-Los .... J |
