hey all. i got a problem with my engine. my bro took it when the engine was running hot. the temp gauge got right up tthere, right on the red line. when i went to start it it wouldnt kick over. it tries to but it just keeps winding up but just wont go. wat could the problem be and how much would it cost to fix . thanks gumby. |

with a compression gauge. auto pro has them on special for $50 at the moment ( may be trade only price though). i had this problem with my swift last year. turned out to be a main bearing and a head gasket ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Have a try again? It may just be a coincidence I've had a few mini's well into the red and never had a problem. You might have blown the gasket as said or warped the head..but you'd want to have been trying..and stupid to notice it was overheating.. Instead of buying a guage, take out all the spark plugs put your thumb over the each hole while someone cranks it. If the head gasket is blown there wont be much pressure.. |

by the sound of it, you need to take it to a mini specialist, get the professionals to check it and tune it while its there, it shouldnt be overheating. and it shouldnt be much money to have it checked over. |
