There are a couple of rust spots in the top front corner of my front guard. They are only small but they go right through. Is there a good alternative to welding them up as I only have an Arc welder and I'm presuming you need a mig? Fortunately this is the only rust in the car I think the front may have had a minor altercation at some stage. |

Unless you cut it out and weld it I guarantee it will be back, eventually. Ask around on here, some Mini nut near you will have a MIG... ![]() Edit.. if you do decide to fibreglass it, cut ALL the rust away until you get back to clean metal. But this is really no substitute for welding a patch in. |

What about those newer 'as good as steel' fillers? You probably wouldn't do it for a concours restoration, but for a small, non-structural hole, I think it's ideal. And the price is right. As above, clearing out all the rust is the key. |
