Who here owns one and can give testimony to the product versus other (more inferior?) brands? I am looking into buying one, and seeing as i'm paying double the price for the KAD version, i'd like to hear what other people have to say. Do it right, the first time; that's how i like to operate. |

I dunno, remote shift is quick already, I'd hate to think how much quicker it could be ![]() ![]() |

so translated to noobie language what does it mean... just shortens the distance between first and 2nd etc? what's the advantage ive seen them around just have no idea what they do! |

What it does is makes the distance between each gear shorter. It doesn't really allow you to get it into the gears any faster, just requires a shorter "throw" to get it there. I love my quickshift rod change boxes... quite possibly more than a remote box! Rover rod change is far far superior to Morris/Leyland items, so i am also biased in this respect as well, as i'll be running an A+ motor in my Deluxe, with Rover frames, etc. |

thomen wrote: hehe "not to bother" = damn you i wanted it so i dont care what you say im paying for it! Yes and no..... people basically said that it was too hard to tell if you just selected 2nd or 4th before dropping the clutch. Pffff, Amateurs ![]() ![]() thomen wrote: hows the 850 supercharge conversion going? did you buy the kit from link?
Hell no, not a Link kit..... I really dont like those kits. Mine was affordable. See here ---->http://www.ausmini.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=6252 And no, I have not done a thing to that car since...whenever it was I last did anything to it. ![]() |

Only used the KAD remote Quickshift kit from minisport. It is absolutely bloody brilliant! If anyone has any doubts about fitting one of these beauties forget them. The travel is shorter, smoother, easier to get into gear, (used to crunch 2nd to 3rd on over enthusiastic gear changes, not anymore) the top of the lever is now perfectly positioned under your hand, no more reachiung forward for it. Get it, you know you want to!! ![]() ![]() Oh did i mention it is rather good? ![]() Matt |

Had one on my 1100. Felt good, but wore the gear box out pretty quickly. Think it was the syncros that went. |

Wearing the synchros is more a matter of forcing the change as quick as you can regardless of the shifter. (ramming it through the gears quickly) The quickshift just makes it easier to change, so you want to keep ramming it through the gears without feeling like you are ramming it through the gears! It is the driver that brakes the gearbox not the shifter ![]() ![]() |
