Nothing wrong with hydros! Put shocks on the front, rear comp bump stops on the back and pump them up! Handles terrifically and is much smoother then dry. |

No where near as bad... maybe a collapsed cone or a worn cup... not the horrible hydro fluid that stinks, stains and discolours paint... holes in pressure lines, bags that split, valves that won't shut off properly... rear end stuck up in the air... do i need to go on? |

If it breaks it doesn't work. Yes more can go wrong, but for a road car hydro is by far a smoother ride once the abpve improvemts have been made. My resto has hydro and it'll keep it's hydro. My opinion, which is oviously not shared by you. Once again another reason i keep telling myself not post......... |

I do like hydro for a nice cruiser... but i don't like the problems that go with it. I drive a rover most days... no reason for hydro. My Metro is Hydro... bag currently split. Our MG 1300 is Hydro... I prefer the handling characteristics of the rubber cone. |

Arron i dont understand your last comments i think steve has a valid point ... you also have a valid point ...... why take it to heart agree to dissergree but also hothead what is the reason to go from hydro to dry ??? lowering or some such or cos you dont like the way the car rides makka |

It's OK uncle Makka, steve and i are still freinds. My coments aren't really on topic, so i won't divulge any further and stray even further off topic. Back to hydro, If it has hydro keep it, unless you wan to go really fast around corners, save your money and just stock up on replacment bags as they come up. ![]() Cheers Aaron |

I've had maybe 6 or 7 hydro cars, never had a bag split or a pipe leak. My current daily Mini ride still has its 1970 model bags and pipes. I drain/refill the hydro every 5 years, and I have 4 spare bags if IT ever happens. ![]() ps we have 3x dry ones too, but honestly I've had less trouble with hydro. No rubber cones to sag/rust threads out of...haha. ![]() And no need to fit Hi-Los to civilise the height adjustment. |

Doc, am I dreaming or have I seen somewhere that you have done a wet top dry conversion without changing the subframes? |
