hi guys i know this sounds silly (im new to the minis) but how much and what is different between the 1973 and the 1987 model up

reasone being ive done a heap of custom work and still do more to a 73 mini but for me to enter a car show i have to have a chassis of 87 and up......

i dont want to restart maybe if i could change chassis or something i dont know.....

any ideas hints would be greatful......

i know this is a hard one but as u can see im in a dilemer ive spent hundreds of hours i dont wanna start again hahhahaha

Leave it a 73 and enter classic car shows.
The 80's cars were different, and were imports only.

The Transport people told me there were two many differences to even consider them the same car...
Different manufacturer.
Different doors.
Bigger back windows.
Different ADR's
hence why i'm not allowed to do a legal body swap.(Don't get me started)

It's a car show... if they are that padantic about correct body numbers i wouldn't bother going.
I have a 1990 mini... non mini people think its a 60's mini done up.
