[b]PROBLEM FIXED[/b] i am in the process of replacing my drum set up with better a drum set up and i have got the passengers side all off but the rose joint on the drivers side doesnt want to split. i have been using a scissor style splitter but no luck. is there are another way to crack these joints ![]() thanks heaps[/b] |

Rose joint? I think you mean ball joint. (rose joints are different) The other way to pop the joint is to hit the side with a hammer or better still, two hammers, one each side. One big hit! Not a lot of little hits. |

Put the front up on stands under the sub frame, use your jack under the drum to lift up the top arm from the body and put a spanner in the gap and lower the jack. Undo the top nut till only on by a couple of threads. then hit the ball joint with a hammer. and pop she'll go. If your not doing it today PM me and I'll take photos for you for tommorrow arvo. steve |

i have undone the top and bottom ball joints and the centre nut. this is the one i am having trouble with it ![]() (circled in red) ![]() if anyone knows what this is called let me know thanks for the offer steve but i am kind of past the beginning now ![]() thanks for the help ![]() |

That bottom shoe will be full of oil also so i'd toss them also. WHile your doing also this I would also check for the wheel bearings, bit late for this side as the wheel is off |

yeah i am replacing the whole lot with a set WhoDat had that he ran on his van for a little while before he got discs. Steve if any one is jealous its me! i want bruiser ![]() ![]() thanks for help everyone ![]() |
