Post subject:  sound proofing???

oi ppls
can anyone tell me, whats beyond the roof lining?
is there some sort of sound proofing?
is it perhapd made from the same material as carpet underlay?
could you use insulation instead? would insulation be a good idea?? or would whatever else is used (if something else is used) be better for the job???

there is stuff that looks like underlay glued to the inside of my roof (as i dont have roof lining..yet..) and i have been asking dad (rodney) what happens with sound proofing, but he cant tell me...

so, whats the go kiddies??? :D

Gee - in all the minis I have worked on there is nothing above the roof lining - just bare metal bar the wires to the interior light.

IThe headlining is held inplace by six or seven metal bows through the headlining that clip into the roof bracings.

Now - a horse hair or modern equivalent on the roof would certainly help sound proof a mini but its not there as standard.

yeh, all the metal bows are there, but then theres the stuff thats stuck to the roof...

do you reckon sound proofing is a good idea?

for sound proof reasons aswell as insulation reasons...???

I don't see why not... It's not a bad idea. Use something soft so your head doesn't crack on the roof when you roll it.

Trust me, you need something STUCK to the roof, or it's like a 44gallon drum when you slam the doors!
