You won't need the top and bottom suspernsion arms if you are using CooperS brakes , they used normal ones . You can change your lower arms if you want to go for negative camber (bottom of wheels poking out) . Also , if you get the later Metro brakes you'll need to use negative camber lower arms to correct the difference in the camber of the metro hubs , plus their discs are bigger and need 12" wheels . CooperS disc's are by far the easiest to use as they just fit straight away .

Thanks - you guys answered exactley what I hoped.

I have just handed over some cold hard cash (less than half what Makka advised) for a complete Cooper S disc brake setup , with CV's , stone guards and top and bottom suspension arms etc.

I will reco the whole lot to make sure what goes on the car won't need replacing for a while but it sounds like i got a bargain.

I bought a set for well under a grand S/H. By the time i changed CVs, boots, new timkin tapered roller bearings, calliper kits, new pistons, new nuts, new ball joints, new brake lines, new rear cooper s cylinders and brake lines it cost me over $1400 which is only a few $100 off a brand spanking new set!

Ouch, I could be in for a bit of a surprise then cost wise. :?
its probably time to make use of some contacts to see if they can cut costs for me a bit.

And a Booster?

AFAIK a brand new cooper S brake set consists of front brake lines and a set of new ball joints. What you do need however is rear cooper s cylinders and brake lines which are extra.

Forgot to mention the cost of new pads as well as new split pins, and calliper paint 8)

Other items probably not covered with the brand new brake kit perhaps is 2 new driveshaft spring clips and grease! 8)

Don't use/want a booster...

A few hundred dollars off a new set is still cheaper, and after you have fitted all the new bits they are the same as the new kit anyway so its a couple of hundred in your pocket.

Sorry for hijacking thread but...

I beg to differ! I got the brakes with two left calipers. Not that big of a deal but still not a whole set. The left hub had an 850 steering arm on it and the bolts were rusted frozen hence replacement was risky/not possible. The right hub had worn bearing seats and hence the bearing could spin in the hub without bearing lock applied, even then still a worry. Drive flanges were quite second hand, brake rotors are thinnest possible (no more machining), calliper split pin holes are very second hand.

For another few $100 a new set would be missing all of these gripes! 8)

You could just bolt them onto the car & drive it to see how they work, no point recoing something that has nothing wrong with it in the 1st place.
